The Frankie Hybrid preamplifier and Frankie power stereo by Serblin & Son were evaluated over an extended period in a domestic listening environment.
Attention to construction is evident from the unboxing stage: robust packaging, a detailed manual in Italian and English and, for the preamplifier, a solid metal remote control. Once removed from their boxes, the two components reveal a balance between vintage references and contemporary design, with a wood finish also available in black.
The pair recalls the aesthetic tradition of the family companies through careful cabinet work, while combining it with clean forms and a modern visual presence. The manufacturer positions the power amplifier as the natural partner for the preamplifier, creating a system above the level of the integrated Frankie.
